I heard this striking, atmospheric piece (which lasts about a minute) at its first performance in Sherborne Abbey and immediately offered to publish it. The composer was Head Chorister at Salisbury Cathedral and is an accomplished singer, having recently sung 1st soprano in the duet from Handel’s Dixit Dominus with Dame Emma Kirkby and the top part of Allegri’s Miserere in concerts in Sherborne Abbey.
